The selection contains several tacks of an interesting and convenient shape, plus simple tacks with an unusual decor.

It seems that it can be simpler than a tack ... But if you include imagination and / or choose interesting materials, you get accessories that are not only necessary and practical, but also capable of becoming a bright decoration of your kitchen. They can also be a good gift, for example, for a housewarming party, and for those who love to cook, and for another holiday, or for no reason.

Beautifully printed fabric gauntlets

Even simple and familiar gloves, gloves can look unusual due to the fabric chosen for their sewing. In this example, 3 types of fabric were used, one of them with a print in the form of clouds. It turns out beautifully and stylishly. First you need to cut out the details of the inside of the tack from a plain fabric. Then - make a sheet of colored pieces for the front side of the tack from colored pieces. Using the inside part as a template, add the “sandwich” (see photo), quilting it. Sew front and back tack details. Handle the bottom with a blind seam manually.

Round tack with valves

The longest in this project is to make patterns and cut out the details! You will need cotton or linen, batting or a synthetic winterizer (in this case, two types of synthetic winterizer are taken for density, but if yours is thick enough, one is enough) and a slanting inlay. Cut out the details (seephoto), fold the “sandwiches”, quilted, work on the edges of the valves, connect the parts into a tack and fix it with a slanting inlay.

How to sew do-it-yourself oven mitts

Big two-hand tack

Such a tack is especially convenient to take a pan, stewpan or pot with both hands and not get burned. An old terry towel is used here as a bulk layer - a good idea! Also need cotton or linen fabric and a slanting trim. First you need to cut out the details for a long rectangle and two valves, put down the “sandwiches” and quilted. The edges of the valves are treated with an oblique inlay, connect the tack details and fix with an oblique inlay, rounding the corners.

Mitt

Large two-hand tack with mittens

A slightly more complicated version of the tack from the previous idea. It is carried out, in fact, the same way, only the details need to be cut in the form of mittens.

Patch gloves

Scrambled egg mitts

These funny potholders are not as simple as they seem. If you look closely, you can see: under each "scrambled eggs" is hidden the usual square quilted potholder. In this way, you can make ready-made oven mitts more interesting or save those on which a hole has formed. You will need felt, scissors and fabric glue. The sequence of work is in the photo below:
