Leopard, tiger, zebra - these "wild" prints saturate the urban jungle with colors.

Safari trip: canvas bag with woven handles

This bag is great for shopping.

Size approx. 40 x 45 cm

You will need:


  • canvas (thick cotton fabric) 140 cm wide, 0.45 m long
  • 3 different cords 90 cm long
  • violet and orange textile dye
  • brush
  • sewing threads
  • Carbon paper Burda.

How to do

1. Fold the bag detail in half, mark the lower fold, and fold it back into one layer.
2. The motive to increase to the desired size.
3. Using a copy paper, transfer the zebra’s motif to the front half of the bag.
4. Draw a zebra with purple paint, allow the paint to dry completely.

To make a “leopard” skin make stamps, as described in the instructions for the manufacture of cosmetic bags. According to the description for coloring cosmetics bags to apply a pattern of "leopard skin".



5. Fix the paint as described by the manufacturer.
6. On the bag details, short sections should be ironed to a width of 1.5 cm on the wrong side, tuck and sew.
7. Fold the bag detail face to face, grind the side sections to a width of 1.5 cm. Neat allowances, unscrew the part.
8. For pens, cut each cord into 2 identical pieces, weave 3 different cords into a pigtail.
9. From the flap of fabric cut 4 rectangles size. 4 x 6 cm. On the rectangles, cut the sections to the inside, 1 cm wide, then fold the rectangles to size. 2 x 2 cm and iron.
10. Insert the ends of the handles into rectangles, stitch the edges of the rectangles into the edge, grabbing the ends of the cords. The ends of the handles at a distance of 10 cm from the side seams of the bag, prick under the upper edge of the bag and stitch along the line of the top.

You will need:


  • canvas (thick cotton fabric) size 25 x 40 cm
  • turquoise leather remains
  • 20cm zipper
  • orange textile paint

  • thick rubber mat and cardboard for the stamp
  • knife cutter and dense bedding for cutting
  • zigzag scissors
  • textile glue
  • golden brush cap
  • buttonhole stitches

Cut

Cut 2 parts of a cosmetic bag 24 cm wide, 17 cm long, including allowances.

How to do

1. Make a stamp: copy the motive and transfer it to a thick rubber mat. Cut motif details with a knife. Stick each cut-out part onto cardboard. If necessary, glue several layers of cardboard so that the stamp is more convenient to hold in your hands.
2. Paint on the brush, transfer to the stamp and print on the fabric.
3. Finally, according to the manufacturer's instructions, fix the paint on the fabric.
4. From the skin, cut strips 1.5 cm wide: 3x 22 cm, 2x 15 cm.
5. On one side of the strip cut a zigzag with scissors.
6. Place one piece of the bag on the upper edge (24 cm) of the bag so that the side of the strip cut by the teeth lies on the bag and the part of the bag protrudes 1 cm beyond the ends of the strip. Glue the strips to the allowances of the bag part. Glue the remaining leather strips in the same way on the other sides of the bag.
7. Open the zipper. With the top side down, push the zipper on the part of the bag, the zipper cloves lie in front of the cloves of the leather strip on the part of the bag. At the ends of the zipper, leave the part of the bag protruding to the same length on both sides. Stitch the zipper tape to the part of the bag 1 cm wide, grabbing leather strips. Iron allowances on the part of the bag.
8. Close the zipper halfway. Stitch the side and bottom sections of the bag face to face to a width of 1 cm.To turn out a bag, to iron edges.
9. For a leather brush, cut a rectangle of size. 8 x 13 cm. On the long side, cut a fringe 5 mm wide and 7 cm long. Twist the brush into the roller with the top side on the face, while lubricating the uncut edge on the underside with glue, sew together with a leather needle and stitching threads the end of the brush, the ends of the threads to pass through the cap, put the cap on the end of the brush and tie the ends of the thread to the zipper fastener.

You will need:


  • transparent silk fabric
  • cardboard box cover
  • elastic tape
  • baking paper
  • pattern with a pattern
  • paint (Velvet Touch by Marabu)
  • thick black felt-tip pen


Step 1


Cut the fabric to the size you need, our scarf is 100 x 100 cm in size. Make a pattern for painting, for which put the zebra skin pattern on the cardboard with a black felt-tip pen (you can take a bag motif for the sample).
Put the template with the pattern in the lid of the cardboard box - it will be a frame for fixing the fabric when printing.

Step 2

Unfold the fabric over the cover and secure it with elastic tape. Through a transparent fabric, the pattern is clearly visible.

Step 3

Apply paint, leave to dry completely. Move the fabric and repeat the process again. Iron the fabric through the baking paper to fix the paint.

To trim, tear 4 strips 6 cm wide from the fabric, equal in length to the side of the scarf. Fold the strips in half so that the top does not reach 1 cm to the bottom. Iron. Paste the stripes on the slices of the scarf, open the slices lie outside, stitch at a distance of 1 cm from the fold. Wrap the fold on a handkerchief and sew again to the edge.
