This cover is not only beautiful, but also very warm! How to sew this - see the master class.
This bedspread is made of faux fur with a long pile of three colors. You can make a drawing of different fur in the same way as in this master class. And you can come up with your own combination. Velvet is used here as a lining, but you can take the material to your taste: smooth cotton, soft flannel, warm fleece and so on. For such a plaid, you can also use flaps of fur, for example, by purchasing several suitable residues in a fabric store.
Before work, it will be good to brush up on tricks and tips on working with faux fur:
How to sew faux fur
You will need:
- fur of three colors;
- lining material;
- scissors for fabric;
- tailor pins (preferably large, for coats);
- ruler;
- marker or crayon for fabric;
- needle for hand sewing;
- sewing machine and thread.
Idea: button lining for a knitted blanket or plaid
Step 1
Decide on the pattern of your plaid (you can make a sketch). Calculate the dimensions of the details and cut them with allowances of 1.5 cm. There are two squares, light beige and brown, two rectangles of the same colors and two stripes, narrow and wide, made of pink fur.
Step 2
First, assemble the composite stripes: here each consists of a square and a rectangle.
Chip off the parts by folding them face to face and tucking the pile inward.
Grind parts, leaving allowances of 1.5 cm.
Step 3
In the same way, connect the resulting stripes with stripes of pink fur. The outer part of the bedspread is ready.
Step 4
Cut out a part equal to the size of the resulting external part from the lining material. Fold the outer and inner parts of the covers with their faces inward and pin them along the perimeter, tucking the pile inward as well. Leave a twisting hole about 20 cm wide.
Stitch the parts around the perimeter, leaving the hole open. Turn the cover through it and sew the hole manually with a blind seam. Done!
