The heroine of our column is called Jen Smith, she lives in the USA. Here's what Jen tells about his passion for embroidery: “I grew up in a creative home and learned to embroider as a child - then it was cross stitching. I spent quite a lot of time on sewing, knitting and other needlework, but it was embroidery that really captured me. It was in 2017 when I moved from a busy city to a ranch in the countryside. The solitude, even isolation, required some adjustment in my life. I needed some kind of creative activity - I think that embroidery was the salvation. I remember, I I saw one embroidered work on Etsy: I liked it so much that I wanted to repeat it. At first I embroidered, taking as a basis the pictures of one and my friends. I posted these works on Instagram - and soon people began to wonder if it was possible to purchase them. Soon I started to create my own sketches, and it makes me very happy! "

Today, Jen sells her embroideries over the Internet and receives interesting orders. For example, one book publisher asked her to create a cover for a book, entirely made using embroidery. “I started embroidering for pleasure, but it opened up many opportunities for me,” says our heroine.
