Such straps are comfortable on a T-shirt, top, sports bra, light sundress. It’s easy to complete them - follow the steps in the workshop.
Adjustable straps often make things much more comfortable. Performing them is easy. The thinnest point here is to choose the desired width of the strap so that it matches the width of the rings and buckles for adjustment.
Here it is shown how to make adjustable shoulder straps on a knitted shirt that is sewn from scratch. Initially, the shirt was supposed to have ordinary thin straps. To make adjustable, the length of the straps must be changed. Using the same principle, you can shorten and make adjustable too long straps on the finished T-shirt / top (just keep in mind that processing will “take away” at least 3-5 cm of the length of the straps).
3 ways to create the perfect armhole in a sleeveless jersey
You will need:
- T-shirt and (if necessary) material for the straps;
- 2 rings and 2 buckles of the right size;
- if you sew from knitwear - a needle for knitwear;
- needle for hand sewing;
- sewing machine and thread.
How to make a T-shirt from a T-shirt in 20 minutes: 3 easy ways
Step 1
When choosing accessories, make sure that the width of the rings and buckles is equal to the width of future straps. When cutting the straps, add a few centimeters to their length (at least 5 cm or more, depending on how much you plan to extend the straps when adjusting).Sew and sew the straps as your model suggests, but do not lock them in the ring: the back piece of strap should protrude 2.5 cm.
Step 2
Put the rings on the left sections of the straps, tuck the straps on the wrong side and sew a zigzag seam.
Step 3
Put the buckles on the straps so that the middle crossbar of the buckle is from the inside of the straps. Pass the end of the strap into the ring, as shown in the photo, repeat with the second strap.
Step 4
Loosen the loop on the buckle. Now you need to pass the free tip of the strap under the middle crossbar of the buckle - it's easier to do this, helping yourself with a needle. Form a loop from the end of the straps around the middle crossbar of the buckle and sew the end, fixing the loop, on the machine with a zigzag or manually. Done. Repeat with the second strap.
